This page explains what personal information Sidus collects through this website, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it. We follow South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

Who we are

Sidus is a motion studio. You can reach us at hello@sidusdigital.com.

Our legal name, address and information officer will be listed here once Sidus is registered.

What we collect

When you ask for a free film, we collect:

  • the website you enter
  • your work email
  • which form you used (the one at the top of the page or the one at the bottom)
  • the theme you were viewing the site in (light or dark)
  • the time you sent it

Our host, Cloudflare, also logs basic technical data when you visit, such as your IP address, your browser and the pages you load.

If you email us, we keep your message and your email address so we can reply.

Why we use it

We use your information to:

  • make your free film and send it to you
  • follow up with you about the film
  • reply when you contact us

We don't sell or rent your personal information.

Where it's kept

Lead details are kept in Google Sheets, and Google Apps Script sends us an email alert for each new request. The website is hosted by Cloudflare.

Google and Cloudflare may store data on servers outside South Africa. When they do, we make sure the protections POPIA requires are in place.

Analytics and cookies

We may use analytics tools such as Google Analytics, which use cookies to measure visits. Where the law requires it, we ask for your consent first, and you can say no.

How long we keep it

We keep lead details for up to 12 months after our last contact with you, unless you become a client.

Your rights

Under POPIA you can:

  • ask what personal information we hold about you
  • ask us to correct it
  • ask us to delete it
  • object to marketing at any time, by replying "stop" to any of our emails or by writing to hello@sidusdigital.com
  • complain to the Information Regulator at inforegulator.org.za

Security

We take reasonable steps to keep your information safe and to limit who can see it. If your information is ever accessed by someone who shouldn't have it, we will tell you and the Information Regulator, as POPIA requires.

Children

This website and our films are made for businesses. They are not aimed at anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

We'll update this page when anything changes, and change the date at the top when we do.
